September wrap up

This month has been pretty good (apart from dropping 3 BIs on the last day)considering I spent allot of time away from the Internet,so I'm very pleased to net nearly $5,000 for about 52hrs work. The last day of the month I ended up playing a freeroll tournament for a free seat in the party $2mil Gtd tournament worth $640.There were about 3565 runners and I needed 50th place.I ran pretty bad getting bad beated allot and I got a huge beat which nearly took me out.I was so tilted after spending nearly 2hrs and losing this hand

After i recovered well then pulled a few moves......

and this hand happens where I'm probably about the 6th biggest stack with 88 players left.I have 250kish and average is around 111k(sorry about converter,it screwed up and others were down at the time:)

The player was really wound up as I had took allot of pots from him.probably 3 big pots and one i stole big time with an amazing 2barrel shove :)(probally 10 outs on the turn by the look of it)

This is the bust out hand.......

Obvious I crai to get him to stack off lighter,I'm happy with how I play the hand and its just a shame he doesn't have enough class to make the fold as he sucks out pretty large on me,saying that to get it all in for 545k pot against a 5outer with TPTK is not a bad spot to be in as that would have put me as the chip leader.(converter screwed up showdown poit size, rest were down so I had to use this one meh)

I keep thinking about spots like this as I'm not that experienced as a tournament player but always do very well when I apply my game and tournament style so i know that some people would "fold into the money"I think i was that into the game I wanted to play like I was playing for first and gain more experience DEEP in a huge MTT with over 3500 runners.

Anyhow I hope every one had a good month or those of you who didn't do that well I hope you minimized your loses.

Party Poker

How can I have a name like PartyScout and not post about this subject!

Party Poker Update Tommorow
If you are unaware Party Poker over the last few months have been creating new skins(other entities)and have run a big marketing campaign in every effort to get Party Gaming back to the top of the Online Poker Industry.

Today is the very last day of the old Party Poker look.We are all going to be install for a treat(even more of one if they fix the CPU lag and the waitlist bug).I hear that the client will offer a brand new look with the option to have the look of the old client too.All this should create bigger player pools at the Party Poker games and more incentives for regular players.

I have had some big issues on Full Tilt over the last 3-4 weeks.Basically for what ever reason I can't play a session without the client crashing at least once a session.Very annoying indeed!I time out in hands and fold, time out in blinds and fold and just miss hands because of me timeing out.I have fired numerous emails off to Full Tilt and I have been patiently awaiting a fix for far too long.

I'm pretty excited about the news about Party so untill I get a fix I think I will at least try the games out.I was known as PartyScout untill I changed my SN to PlzDieInFire and now I'm under a diffrent SN with the option to change it at the end of this month.Good times! This is what Full Tilt need, the option to change your SN every 6 months like Party Poker.

USD>>>GBP Exchange Rate
I know we all think about this from time to time(myself most days it's in the back of my mind).Basically if your a UK Internet player you will know how bad the exchange has become for cashing out USD>>>GBP compared to 5 years ago where the USD was strong against the pound. With everything thats happened to the markets over the last 6 months, the last month minus this last 12 days,we have seen the USD>>>GBP exchange rate soar once again.I took the oppurtunity to cash out alot of £'s whilst the exchange was so good.Unfortunatley the $700billion that the US pumped back into the market buying up all these bad bank debts(the dodgy subprimes) has seemed to stabalize or at least hold the leak,so this is good news for the rest of the world, but for people like Internet players wanting to cash out USD>>>GBP it's not looking as attractive as it was 12 days ago :(

London trip

Sunday 14th
Got train from Didcot to London Paddington station and arrived around 7:20pm.After I got checked in and took a quick shower I headed out to the Victoria Poker room which is on Harrowby Street just 5 minutes away from my hotel to meet a fellow 2+2er Ben/Benjee(I think he likes to be called).

We quickly joined all the waitlist for the games, whilst we waited we enjoyed a meal in the restaurant. We got comped so after we ate I think we only had £8 to pay or so for the extra drinks and stuff so that was cool.

I sat down and played some £1/£2 which was proper weak. For those of you who are any good at Internet poker live is a very easy transition to make as long as your not a tell box.I think live is allot easier than the Internet but the bad thing is it's pretty slow and I was getting bored after 3 days of live poker.

I ended my session £321 for around 3.5hrs work(I think 45minutes of this time was in the restaurant)

On the way home I heard someone shout to me,and I could see a black girl who came over.At first I was hoping it was this hot black girl who I stacked at our table in a 3-way pot called Jennifer.Meh,some skanky prostitute trying to work it asks if I want any action and I reply"the only thing I want to get up is early in the morning so I'm going to need my sleep"I thought this was a nice response from me as I felt like just telling her too take her ugly face across the street!

Monday 15th
I got up around 9am as we had too be checked into the event for 10:30am.By the time everyone checked in and sat down it was well past 1pm.Really badly organised I felt. The tournament went great apart from me being a bit card dead.I had AKo once AKs twice Tens and 9s and that was it apart from maybe 4 other very small pairs where I was utg at aggressive table's which is clearly a fold.

The bust out hand was 6 handed with 11players left on two tables.I was getting pretty active trying to pick pots up and ended up with 23k when the blinds where 1500/3000 and I'm utg 6handed with AcTc.I decide I have to raise after taking a glance around the table and most of the players in the hand with their actions was telling me they was about to fold.I make it 7k and one player calls(the chip leader)I'd not seen him get out of line and felt he was probably playing well and getting good hands at good times.I decided to check on Qc-4c-4h The reason I checked was because I was about to check fold as I didn't realise I had the flush draw. The guy bets 6k and its back on me with 16k left. After a while I look at my cards then I feel like an absolute clown.I have misread my hand and should have open shoved 16k into 18.5k .....anyways after me working out I'm around 42%(since that I worked it out at 44.65% through a poker calculator) as long as he doesn't have AQ I shove KNOWING he is gonna call my 10k with anything(I already know he has Q at worst but most likely 77/88/99/TT)

The guy calls turn & river brick..meh busted!

I stayed and watched the whole event after going out in 11th and it was a good game. Some big names came later like Ivey and Antonius and Benyameine.

I got in around 2am and got to sleep as I wanted to go and watch the big guns play the million dollar cash game the following day

Tuesday 16th
I got to the venue just as they were allowing everyone in so I looked super smooth just walking straight in whilst everyone else said they had to wait about 45mins for the film crew to be ready enough to let them in.

It was really good watching the final table of 6 play down to a winner.

When it got down to 3 handed everyone was extremely impressed with the one female player who got knocked out in 3rd.Adam Noone won the event and it confirmed my prediction that himself or Jay was going to win. They ended up HU and Adam got the best of it fortunately.

I was very impressed with how Adam played Ivey and how he played Roland and Fegusson.Unfortunately Roland De Wolfe luck boxed his Qs-5s on Adams A-6o and crippled him.Adam couldn't come back from this and that's why he only won 2/3 HU matches. Boy was he smiling when they presented him with the £200,000 check.Congrats Adam well played sir.

I end up in the Victoria club again really tired and end up spewing off £53.50p before calling it a night.

Wednesday 17th
What an awesome day!I turned up and spoke to Cunningham who is a really nice guy and it was good talking to him. Also I got the chance to speak to Patrick Antonius who also is a pretty sound dude.On break after the 2nd session of filming the crew announced 1hr dinner.Patrick,David and Mike Matasow decided they was going to play Chinese for 2k a point until mike said he only wanted $500 a point.I ended up watching the whole thing in amazement and laughing most of the the time at each other squabbling with one another over Patrick scoring it correctly?Haha, how Americans say "Mother Fucker" is priceless :)

I ended up pocketing the score card at the end of the day.Steeled it?It was laying around and I thought it would be a cool memento.

I got to the Victoria club after and ended up a £240.50p winner for about 2hrs work,if that.So that was putting me up £508 at the games in the Vic for around 6.5hrs-7hrs work over 3 nights which I feel is great at £1/£2 for my 5th time playing live cash.SHIP!

Thursday 18th
I decide I'm not going to stay to watch day2 of the million dollar cash game and head home at 11:20am.

I get back to my dads house in Oxfordshire and freshen up and I treat them to a Chinese takeaway as it was my dads birthday on the 9th and I only bought him a small gift. Also I would like to thank my dad and his wife for putting me up and always making me feel very welcome when I visit, which is not as often as I would like.

Friday 19th
I got up at a ridiculous time 8:30am,poker players are not meant to get up till 2pm each day you know. It's the law :) I got home pretty early and sorted out all my washing and got back to normality pretty fast.

Later Friday evening I had to be at the recreational ground where I live as we were hosting a 11-14yrs old 5-a-side football tournament which went down really well.

OK I don't really like having conflicts with people about poker but I got really annoyed by the guy who finished 6th or 5th?He was the guy who knocked me out and still to this day thinks I CRAI with only 3outs.LOL.I posted my bust out hand on 2p2 and he piped up trying to say I had only 3outs.After repeated attempts to try to tell him my hand he still thinks I only had 3outs.Why would I lie?Anyway I bet him $20k or however much more he wants on the exact whole cards. For some reason he has stopped posting.I wonder why.It really is a big insult for me,I'm a very proud player and I always kick myself and tilt badly when I make mistakes in huge spots. This was not one of them.People who play lots of hands can always remember key hands/exact whole cards from sessions weeks and sometimes months ago.I know I can and I was willing to bet on this. Here is the thread if you have a spare 10minutes.It's pretty funny how the key just makes an assumption I'm not telling the Truth and he even says I said I was drunk as an excuse for misreading my hand.In the post I clearly state I was tired after playing at the Vic.He must know that little about poker he thinks the Vic is a pub lol.Wake the fak up bro, prob bet for your whole roll imo

Now I'm settled I am looking forward to getting back into playing Internet poker and will make every effort to have a good month. For everyone I met at London who happens to stumble upon my blog "Hi nice meeting you all and best of luck in the future"for all the rest of you degens....I guess I wish you all good luck as well,as long as your not sat with me ldo ;)

Late Planning

So I finally pulled my finger out last night and booked my hotel.I did pretty well as allot of hotels were booked up.I booked 14th-check in-16th check out as that particular hotel is booked up after that.If I decide to stay longer I'll just check into another hotel. The hotel is about average price for the location which is right next to the tube PAD where I'm going to be coming in from DID station and within walking distance of the event location paddintgon street. So I'm pretty chuffed about that. It's awefull going to a new place with limited time to figure out your bearings.

I will probably head out in the evening and go and get a beer and some food once I'm checked into the hotel.I think one 2p2'er is going to be meeting up with me and showing me around the Victoria and Gutshot card clubs. That should be good.If I get chance I want to ask some of the pro's if they want to come down to.How cool would it be to walk in with Roland 'De' Wolfe, not too fussed about Ferguson and a few of the others,lol.....Ferguson is kind of scary looking imo.Not scary in a good way either if you get my drift.

Pics and TR to come............

Packed up my stuff and hit the road

On The Road :)
Well I have been extremely busy the last few days.On Thursday after work I traveled to Oxfordshire to see family before I hit London on the 15th & 16th for the Full Tilt Poker Million Pound Challenge Event.
It's pretty hilarious how much stuff I took with me for such a short trip, but hey I didn't/still don't know how long I intend to stay here in the South.
I was in two minds what computer stuff I should take and then just thought what the hell I take my freaking desktop unit.Haha,my Dad and his wife are pretty cool with me so they don't mind me messing up there office and sleep patterns for the forthcoming week at least.Pretty good that they put up with me trekking up and down stairs all day logging hands/data mining/table selecting etc etc.
It was also my Dads birthday on the 9th so we intend to go for a meal on Sunday which will be nice.

Yesterdays Session was pretty crazy.I put in just over 1100 hands and ended just over 1 BI down at $400nl.I'm pretty happy with how I ended up playing apart from early on calling way too many 3bets light IP & OOP.So I guess I'm happy to quit stuck 1 BI :)

Hand 1
Full Tilt Poker, $2/$4 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 6 Players
LeggoPoker.com - Hand History Converter

CO: $423
Hero (BTN): $435.10
SB: $740.40
BB: $400
UTG: $86
MP: $400

Pre-Flop: A 2 dealt to Hero (BTN)
2 folds, CO raises to $14, Hero calls $14, SB raises to $60, 2 folds, Hero calls $46

SB is a crazy break even player who from time too time uses the NITTY stats they project to their advantage.WE had been tangling a bit with me getting the worst of it so far.

Flop: ($138) 7 5 4 (2 Players)
SB bets $65, Hero calls $65

I already planned to float the flop, and shove a turn bet on almost any board.I had thoughts about raising here but didn't see any point as it's an even bigger spew than my PF call.

Turn: ($268) 3 (2 Players)
SB checks, Hero bets $58, SB raises to $120, Hero raises to $310.10 and is All-In, SB calls $190.10

Turn bingo card imo,I float with gushot with plan to shove most turns with a totall airball and hit a straight.Good times! After they check I bet small to induce,I INSTA shove the turn CR thinking my hand is good 99.99% of the time and just want to look FOS so I can get called from alot of there range.

River: ($888.20) 8 (2 Players - 1 is All-In)

Results: $888.20 Pot ($3 Rake)
Hero showed A 2 (a straight, Five high) and LOST (-$435.10 NET)
SB showed 6 3 (a straight, Eight high) and WON $885.20 (+$450.10 NET)

I think I got owned a little here, but it's just a variance spot as they got very lucky. After I decided 1 BI on image has been spent I should tighten up for the rest of the session :)

Hand 2
Full Tilt Poker, $2/$4 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 6 Players
LeggoPoker.com - Hand History Converter

BTN: $400
Hero (SB): $505
BB: $1,907.60
UTG: $718.10
MP: $1,128.60
CO: $447

Pre-Flop: Q Q dealt to Hero (SB)
UTG calls $4, MP raises to $12, 2 folds, Hero raises to $42, BB calls $38, 2 folds

BB is Freudian Bet 21/16/2.7 I have been sat in the same seat for a while,175hands and I'm playing pretty tight@17/13/2.4 as the two seats after Freud are 45/30/4 type players.Nothing has happened so far between me and the reg and with the one limper in the pot and an isolator I'm not sure 100% of his range here 126.25BBs effective.I think it's pretty obv that the isolater is weak(hence my smallish 3bet trying to induce action)and I think that freud knows that the isolator is weak. With how I play the flop, then almost insta check the turn(in an effort too look weak)as I feel his best hand here is going to be JJ but think his whole range might be something like:
JJ/TT/JTs/99/88/AKs(I'm almost certain he would play AKs like this)

I was kind of unsure on how to proceed on this river given my weird line:
Induce
PSB/70% pot
CRAI
C/C(I had a slight thought about this but was defo leaning towards the other three options given my line looks fairly weak sauce)

Flop: ($100) 9 3 8 (2 Players)
Hero bets $68, BB calls $68

I think that he knows I'm going to C-Bet here 85% of the time so I C-Bet small enough so he can float with alot worse I he called me light.

Turn: ($236) 4 (2 Players)
Hero checks, BB checks

The turn I thought check best suits my small C-Bet flop action, trying to basically sell him the idea I have AIR.I was almost positive he had AKs or JJ/TT here

River: ($236) 2 (2 Players)
Hero?
Already posted this on twoplustwo forums so can't reveal the results yet.

I'm feeling a little tired today and a bit tense,I have not slept well for a few days now and I'm planning on not playing tonight and just having a few beers in the house with the intention of falling asleep at a reasonable time so I can get up early and have my body clock set to normal AM instead of silly PM.I have to be checked into the event at London by 10:30am on the 15th and don't think I'd be able to get up otherwise.

I'm just looking at hotels and train times at the moment,I'm so lame I really am layed back not booking or making any type of arrangements to the very last minute.

September So Far

Rolling OK for the month, with the exception of me spewing at party on a few different session.Man PP plays out totally different to FT after you have been use to how the FT regs play. It's very true that each level plays differently from site too site.
