Doomswitch continues

Please stop this poker gods It’s not fun for me any more!

Well, I’m pretty sure my doomswitch is in full flow today!
I really do feel pretty shit and worn out from poker this month, and dropping nearly $2.5k in bad beats in the last 2 days is no fun at this end of the month. Pretty disgusting in fact.

Today has been so bad losing QQ to KK 127 BB deep, me thinking of a plan to shove any none AK flop, pretty crap play.

AA runs into a player on tilt who to my delight shoves over my fake donk 3bet re-raise preflop.. But then hit’s a 4 card straight on me AIPF…seriously lol.

And to top it off I just cold called a psb turn bet from a bluffing donk who hit a gutshot when I hit the nut gutshot( I call to induce his stack on river) and the doomswitch continues to rape me hard by dealing a chop card.

I played HU again and won a few stacks which helped me a lot mentally(strange because I usually tilt big time HU when feeling crap)

I finished -$630.60c stuck for the day.

I have hit my hand target so that's a good thing and I’m currently up just over $5100 for month now and if I drop any more I will want to smash my computer into pieces so may take the day off tomorrow and call it a month as it’s going to be 5am before I sleep and I have to be up early to get things done and run a few errands.
Also I got college at 7pm-9pm and I’m not sure if I can be bothered to get raped any further with poker this month.

Doomswitch

Wow, just wow. Today has been incredible insane. At one point I was sure I was about to set the new record for how much I have lost in one day playing poker. The standing record is $2200ish and today I have been $2574 stuck at one point. I hold my hands up and say that I have played quite bad. But I can also say I have got very unlucky.

Doomswitched imo:
KK v AK all in preflop

Player hits his miracle flop after calling a huge 3bet

AK v AA so standard

Marginal shove, think I’m 48ish% when money goes in

I was going to shove the turn but I figured he didn’t have a hand, guess I valued myself to death here, but very rare and odd hand.

I would have liked to win this, but it was kind of funny that he goes to wire with this, lol, such a fish needs a pat on back imo. 9.10% to win on turn.

Break Then Try Again
I played another session and won $1100 back before dropping a stack here in a bad spot.
http://weaktight.com/146346 Player here is 25/20/5 and he doesn’t c/c much at all hence the call with AT pre. With the way the hand played out I think he didn’t know where he was and was lucky that I was a bit frustrated and called with AT. I don’t think he is checking to induce the flop I honestly think he didn’t know where he was with this hand.

After this I played some HU and won a few stacks venting at $100nl on FT.That was fun just smashing raise all the time,I forgot how much fun HU was.

Today Killed My Month :(

Today had upset me quite a bit, when I had gotten so close to my target for money I was getting more and more confident that I might actually get close to $10k. $7.5k would have been great for the month and I could have quit today and took the rest of the month off.But this is not what poker is about, sure at times it's hard when we think were going backwards, that's why you can make alot of money at this game,it's not as easy as what it appears.
I will definatly make hands but almost certain I will not hit my cash target.I would be very very happy with $7k+ now with how I ran today I'm not all that hopeful.I was planning on moving up to 3/6 next month but I think I might wait till I'm running a bit better to make it smoother on my bankroll.

Hungover and feeling tired and some rants

I went out last night and met up with a few friends to enjoy some drinks around Chesterfield town.Being as it was a bank holiday weekend we often use this as a good excuse to get shitfaced :)

I'm feeling tired today and I was very annoyed with myself yesterday for trying to bang hands in before I headed out just so I could stay on target with hands for the month.
I ended up stuck $900 for the day for just 282 hands.I hate losing money playing shit!I would sooner get 1 & 2 outtered all day,but when I actually play bad and it's my fault I lost money this bugs the shit out of me!

The last two days play,Saturday & Sunday I have tilted and spewed big time. When we play bad there has too be a reason.I know what started me off so hopefully it will help me to post about it.

It started towards the end of my session on Saturday after making a numpty play by bluff shoving a NITs river bet.WTF was I thinking!
I ended the day +$250 so I was just annoyed that I should have had a $1k day and stopped the session and moved on.

After sleeping I awoke at 4:30pm Sunday and had allot on my mind.
Shall I go out?
Shall I stay in?
I was really indecisive about my plans for the day and ended up doing to much in a Short space of time.
Trying to eat,get ready to go out, play poker and trying to resolve PAHUD & PT errors before 8pm was not a good idea as I got stuck $900 for the day and still have not resolved the PAHUD error I keep getting.

So basically Sunday after getting coolered for a $470 pot early on in the session all in on the turn A8 vs my TPTK a fish spikes his 3 outta 6.5% to win when the money went in!I just spewed chips off and quit $900 stuck for the day. They have to win sometimes, just hurts more when we are overtired and are more prone to tilt. After this I just played bad and made a series of spews in mini pot spots. This is a bit annoying to tilt over something so small but when we get so tired there's not allot I can do other than not play(probably a better idea)

I know we should refrain from poker when we are tired, feeling unhappy and just don't have ample time to play. This is all good and well but I can't always stick to this,if I did I wouldn't get much done.It seems I always feel tired and I'm not the happiest of persons at times :(

Rant over, moving on and going to get back to playing good poker :)

March is going OK now after a shaky start and a bad last couple days,so I think I Will post my graph and update my hand target as I have been doing at the end of each blog I make

Edit:

I just watched alot of television shows as planned today and felt better so I put a few hands and played pretty good apart from maybe 1 hand I could have played better(but I think we get coolered here no matter how we play it) and a few other smallish mistakes maybe $200 in mistakes

Feels good again that I have set my mind back to playing solid after a short lapse in concentration

Probably will not blog again until the end of the month as I expect to be busy hitting my targets.

Brother runs 1 mile for charity

Sport Relief
So I don’t keep in a great deal of contact with my brother but he dropped me a text this week to let me know he was taking part in the “Sport Relief 1 Mile Run”I though this would be a good chance to show some support, donate to a good cause and also this adds to the karma. So I donate £20 as he only set target of £100 and he was almost there already. I have cool friends too, Elly a girl who I used to work with and talk too a lot these days donated as well. Tom says thanks Elly.

Preparations

He Looks Comfortable

Oh That Expression Changed Some!

I Think He Is Relieved Now :)

Before Or After?(You look red but you wrong side of finish flag for after the race?)

Kudos
Tom managed to squeeze out the run in 8min 51 seconds and also he raised £220 with his work matching £4£ so that's £440 and he only set out to raise £100.Superb bro, well done. Thanks to all his friends and colleagues that donated as well.

Karma
I think the £20 was well spent, sure this helped my karma as I have won $2000+ since I donated

I think I am getting used to playing 500hands a day now and in the future will look towards playing 750+ a day then 1k+a day.I have become very focused these last few days and I realize one of my big downfalls in poker is not actually thinking out on certain hands in depth which I'm looking to change.I also started posting hands on 2+2 which I have been reluctant to do so in the past. All these things should help me a great deal to become a much better/solid player.

F1 weekend starts :)

Last few days I have started to get into a good grove with poker so things have been looking up. I took Thursday off as I didn’t feel great and also the games looked sub standard.
Firday, last night went well I caught back a lot of hands but I’m still slightly behind 294 hands on target.Check my sikk hourley rate.

F1 Australian GP
This weekend has me all excited as well as the F1 season starts in Australia. I was up late watching the qualifying sessions live early Saturday morning 2:15-4:20am
I love F1 and I use it as a good excuse to keep regular contact with my grandparents throughout the season. My granddad loves F1 too. I took him to Silverstone a few years ago, he had been a few times before but it was my first F1 viewing there. I think my grandma just does here knitting, crosswords or whatever grandmothers do. She is pretty cool in her own right I guess as she always makes sure she sees me rights cooking me lunch and serving nice homemade deserts when I visit.

Bonus hand
http://weaktight.com/131549 I repop flop as it's a good card to CR on oop,if he calls pretty easy c/f just happened to hit 2outta when he is golden!

Starting to fall behind on hands

Sunday
Went pretty well, actually it went really well. For the first time in ages I actually felt like I played a very good standard of poker(playing tight)
So far this year I think I’m running under expectation but I can honestly say I have not been playing 100% as good as I can. I think this is due to me being over tired and stressed due to other factors in life. If I had to say I’d probably say I’ve been playing 65% of my normal high standard game of poker.

Monday
Well I was really tired come Monday. I go to college Monday nights for 2hrs and by the time this came around I was not feeling it at all! Me and my friend get to college and start work. After about 10mins of logging on logging off and trying other variables I ask out tutor to get I.T down. For some unbeknown reason I couldn’t nor could a lot of other people access our files(stored on college server)
The I.T manager or who ever came down and could not resolve the problem(such a good £32k a year he is worth). As everything we need is on the server we can’t actually do anything in relation to our course(AutoCAD). So me and my friend decide to jack it and cruise back home.
Feeling annoyed by this waste of time I decide to grab some food and watch a few television shows before trying to attempt playing poker. Before I know it it’s really late so I bang in a few hands

Then the games start to get real bad and I’m feeling quite nauseous with how tired I had been all day, so I decide to book the win and get some sleep.

Tuesday
I really felt ill and by the time I got back from my Youth Support part time job I was in no real mood to play poker.
I noted that my rake back got paid into my Full Tilt poker account $11.72c ha-ha. I decide to just play one 6max Turbo SNG for $12 to see how bad I’m playing. I manage to get 2nd and double the rake back money but I lost because I shoved A-7o and got called by A-8o. The board came down all low so his 8 was the defining factor in the match. The players were real horrible and I probably could have got 2nd in my sleep ha-ha.

Today
I still feel a bit off as I have the same headache as I have had for the past 3 days with being so tired. Saying that I am fully rested now and I actually got up today at 11am rather than 2pm+ which was nice to see some daylight for a change.

Due to not playing yesterday and only playing half the hands required for my target on Tuesday,I am now behind 687 hands on my hand target for the month. I plan on putting in a great deal of work over the next week or so.

Stats & Graph March So Far

Also I realize I have to concentrate on other tasks such as completing my induction exercises for the D.D.C as part of my induction for the Youth Support Workers post. I had sort of forgotten about this and now need to pull my finger out to complete this work. I think I have until the first few weeks in April but I have a lot to get through so this might? Interfere with my poker targets!

Last few days

Friday
I played a lot of hands but managed to make $700 in mistakes so this got me off to bad start for the day.

Few mistakes 6max
http://weaktight.com/127621 I really didn’t think this was thin at all.

http://weaktight.com/127623 I just can’t stop 3barrelling at times.

http://weaktight.com/127630 I really got stuck here, decide to check the flop and bet the turn. Think I should just c/f both streets bleh.

http://weaktight.com/127627 I should have called the turn getting cheap draw, guess I just saw him as real weak and tried to take it down!
Hands that different lines would have been better

http://weaktight.com/127625 This player plays the hand really well, very strong line.Looking back now knowing his hand it’s better to raise the flop or shove the turn. At the time I didn’t want to raise the flop with pair being on it, just would have seemed a bit bluffy(exactly what I don’t want when I have AIR)

http://weaktight.com/127626 Blind battles, bleh seems I can’t win flips.

Feeling frustrated at 6max I decide to play some HU .5/1 at FT and won a few stacks.

http://weaktight.com/127613 Float

http://weaktight.com/127614 3Betting light

http://weaktight.com/127615 Classic set vs. TPTK

After the HU match I got back to playing well(or better than I was at 6max earlier in the day)

Crazy game at 400nl 6max
Ok so this game was nuts with a player playing these stats:

Obvious everyone should adapt to players like this at a table, but some of the players where still trying to bluff, isolate and other things that are not good ideas for players of this rare nature.
My first big mistake against him was trying to trap AK on the button. He had been squeezing any hand that there was a raise and at least 1 cold call. I saw this hand as a great opportunity to trap then shove over his squeeze play.

http://weaktight.com/127660 Unfortunately it got 4bet by a 20/15/2.6 type so this must be QQ-AA and at best AK
Being a little frustrated with my play earlier and the few times I took a flop and had to laydown probably the best hand against the other player, without thinking I just auto-shove my AK. The squeezer insta-folds and the other guy shows me AA, bleh

There where 2 times I tried to play KK just cold calling preflop and both those times the over aggressive play just cold calls, firstly making a straight on the turn and the other hand flopping 2 pair with Q-3s. Truly horrible plays which did not work one bit.

The hands which worked out
http://weaktight.com/127677 Not long after I made the horrible AK push, o I blame that on the preflop call

http://weaktight.com/127678 This is a good example of how playing like a call station against over aggressive players can get you more value than betting or raising.

http://weaktight.com/127679 This hand I think I lose out on so much on value but it’s tricky as often he does not show up with a lot here. I really wish I’d bet $225

http://weaktight.com/127680 This one ended it and he left after.

I managed to start off stuck $850ish at this table and clawed it all back and left $550+ for this table.

I still finished the day -$170

Saturday
I decided to take a day off and go and watch the boxing and get drunk with mates around at my friends house. Was really funny as the boxing didn’t start til 2:30am and we all fell asleep for a few hours then woke back up.Hilarious old men syndrome or what?

I managed to play 35hands at 2/4 before I headed to my mates and won $170 so that makes me even for last 2 days of poker.

Tilted,spewing and generally playing bad

I was so tired Tuesday I decided to take the day off to chill and catch up on some sleep. Seemed like a good idea with being 1 day ahead of target with hands.
I watched the Man-U match. Not a very eventful game but still it made a change chilling in front of tv with a few Stella’s.

Yesterday I didn’t feel like playing lots of hands but managed to keep ahead of target. My play throughout the day I feel was definitely sub-standard for me for the first few sessions.

I got coolered twice which sent me on Tilt in the later sessions and I played atrocious dropping 4+Bis. I’m very upset with how I played and I think I need to sort myself out pretty soon or this will end up another poor month.

I have been running at 25/19/2.5 all month and maybe think I’m being exploited by tighter players and just misplaying hands badly in certain spots. I think I will tighten up for a few days and aim to play 4 tables playing really tight and just see if I can pick off some huge pots.

The problem with playing so many tables is,it’s much harder to game select, where as before if a game was not that great I just didn’t play. Now I’m trying to play tons more hands than I usually do.This is maybe why am not doing as well.I’m used to being in the softest and easiest of games, where I took a great deal of time to game select really well. I think I just need to adapt my game a little bit as I don't have enough concentration for my usual game at 4 tables.Until I get used to playing more tables of course.Poker is all about adapting to the games and environment and it's necessary from time to time to change or mix up your play.

Lots of hands no results.

Well yesterday went pretty bad. Session one I banged in 332 hands and I ran TT and QQ up against a player who seemed to be bad and he had KK both times. I also got coolered with TT in another spot against a better player who got pretty lucky. To make it worse I couldn’t read his hand and value shoved $120 more over his river raise as I had him on AJ/AQ at best.Hate losing unnecessary monies but I felt like it was a +EV value shove

http://weaktight.com/123977 I had him down as a bad player.Looking back at the session now this player was very passive.

http://weaktight.com/123978 same player,when he min 4 bet I should find a fold! I guess I was frustrated!

http://weaktight.com/123976 I choose to value shove this hand.Rarely he has AA and I felt like with the turn being a 2nd club he would have shoved AK. So as played he was lucky but played it well in a passive type way and sucked out. I think I have to value shove? I have him on AJ/AQ at best here.

After the first session I took a break and came back and did pretty well bust kept getting coolered and pretty much was running under expectation I felt. Saying this I spewed off about $600 on moves/plays in pretty bad spots.
I tightened up my continuation bets and double barrows to try to keep the variance low in the later sessions.

I’m very happy with all the hands I have been putting in but one thing for sure that I need to keep my eye is to make sure I don’t make spews and mistakes due to playing 3-4 tables. I feel like I can play 4 tables but I definitely cant play my usually style. My MT ratio for yesterday was 2.65 so I didn’t do bad to have the laggish stats. Think I will have to try to play a bit more solid until I get used to playing the as many tables.

Today I feel pretty tired and I'm unsure if I will be able to log many hands.Good thing is I'm nearly one day ahead of target on my hands. This is a good motivation thought process for me.
Whenever I want to take days off or have lazy days after being hungover from partying with friends I should say to myself make sure I'm ahead in hands first,or just catch back any hands I miss when I return to the tables

Lots of hands and frustration creeping in

Well yesterday was fun!

I started off playing very well then I sat at a table and it broke pretty quick so I decided to stay and play a good LAG HU as I thought I had enough edge for it to be profitable. I didn’t hit a thing and before long I was $100ish stuck HU then the table filled. I think this frustrated me and I started to play bad. I quit this session about -$700 stuck, took a breather then played and caught some back finishing -$160 stuck for the day.

Few hands:

Played this pretty bad I was waiting to catch him out that why I didn't 3bet here preflop, bleh!

Love these players Suppose they have to win sometime.

Happy with this float Not to sure if betting the turn would be better,if he doesnt believe he would just CRAI and I think the river is more my range in his eyes.

Nice blind play Pretty good flop,he pretty much INSTA called pre then c/f INSTA as well!

Overall I’m disappointed in my play, as towards the end of the day I felt like I had wasted about $600/$700 unnecessarily. I am very happy in how many hands I logged.

I got college tonight, have not been in 3weeks so I will struggle a bit with the AutoCad stuff.I got up around 2pm today and ended up walking around Tesco’s for nearly 1hr as they had decided to move all there store around and put stuff in really silly places. I hate food shopping and it makes it worse when they change the store around just when you was getting use to everything

I managed to buy a microphone also today, so hopefully my poker videos will be good quality

March off to a good start

Managed to figure out how to use the Camtasia Studio 5 software suite yesterday, think I must have spent about 2.5hrs at least messing around with it in between sessions. I added the first test run on top of the blog(play money on FT poker)I played a small micro HU SNG match also and have that stored on my computer but it seems like I can’t upload to U-Tube as the file is to big. I’m going to have to have a further look into this and also the audio is pretty poor so I’m going to buy a microphone some time next week to make the videos as good of a quality as I can

Yesterday went pretty well +$1250 for 295hands. Bit disappointed that I did not play more but I have been busy with the Camtasia software and other things. Plus I was going to take the day off because I was very tired yesterday and pretty sure I have missed out on some good sleep last week with all the extra grinding I have been putting in.

I made one bad mistake today, being a bad call with top 2 pair when a flush hit on the turn(giving me top 2)

I think this call more than makes up for this previous mistake. This was the third time he tried such a move and I felt very sure that 2nd pair was good. Few times before he was absurdly over aggressive in the blinds. I actually flopped top pair no kicker IP and he led into me for $86 into $20 pot. I was thinking of pushing but my hand was not strong enough and he could have easily had a combo draw making me a slight dog which would have sucked so I’m glad I waited him out to a better spot where it felt a lot better to make a call.

I managed to upload my wmp format mirco HU SNG cash video to myspace as they accept 100mb files.Think I will host all my videos that I make there.Seems pretty easy and it makes sense to have them all in one place.

First Video
Poker Demo Video

Add to My Profile More Videos

The ATo and the Q6 hands are not the best played(Q6 was not that bad, usaully it adds value with players trying to bluff etc, etc)

Stole this idea of another player, but it seems like a good idea to log how many hands I have played and how many I need to hit my goal for the month.I will add this to every blog I make from now on.

Thank flip February is done with

February $2380($700 party points cashed in)

This month has sucked hard!I resulted to cashing in my party points(only got 1k points left out of 71k now) just to make it a bearable month!Knew it was a good idea to save those points for a rainy day.I think this has been the worst 10k hand stretch at $400nl.One thing that has been positive for me this month has been that I have become much more motivated to play hands.I think this last 4/5 days I have played more hands than I have ever done before In that time span and I have really enjoyed playing poker(something that I have been missing in a long while)

I'm definatley looking forward to March to prove to myself that I can become much more motivated in poker and play more hands and hopefully hit my first benchmark of $10k+ which I have yet to pass!

The last day of the month should have been huge but I managed to make a fairly big mistake for nearly 100BBs with Q-Q oop against a passive player

I stopped playing at 5am as the tables at Party Poker dry up around that time and it's not as profitable when there are not as many bad players about
